Who we are

This website is operated by Karl Cowell. For any question about this policy or your data, contact karl@thewixguys.com.

What we collect

When you submit the "Book Karl" enquiry form, we collect the information you choose to provide: your name, email address and any details about your event (organisation, preferred date, venue, audience size, budget and your message). If you sign up to the newsletter, we collect your email address for that purpose alone.

We do not collect payment details, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site. Basic, privacy-respecting analytics may be used to understand overall traffic to the site (see Cookies below).

Why we collect it

We use the information you submit solely to respond to your speaking enquiry, discuss your event, and, if we agree to work together, to arrange the booking. We do not use it for marketing emails unless you separately ask to hear from us.

Legal basis

We process this data on the basis of legitimate interest (responding to a business enquiry you initiated) under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

How long we keep it

Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and, where a booking goes ahead, for the duration of that relationship plus a reasonable period for our records. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Who we share it with

Submissions are stored in our website platform (Wix) and are not sold or shared with third parties beyond what is needed to respond to your enquiry.

Cookies

This site uses Wix's built-in analytics to understand visitor numbers and behaviour. On your first visit you'll see a cookie banner explaining this, which you can dismiss once you've read it. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is stored so we can send you occasional updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing karl@thewixguys.com.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict how it's used. To exercise any of these rights, email karl@thewixguys.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you have concerns about how your data is handled.
